O Rama, please always take care of this devotee Ramadasu
Commentary
In this song, Sri Ramdasu gives an account of various great qualities of Sri Rama. Interestingly, he cites in each charanam, His contrasting qualities. In charanam 1, for example, he recounts how he was born to King Dasaradha and slayed Ravana (who was a great devotee of Lord Shiva) and yet pleased Shiva and befriended Him. In charanam 2, he mentions His mellowing qualities of a beautiful figure adorned by ornaments with various gems and who was soft-spoken, and yet who is a formidable warrior and sustainer of Raghu clan. In charanam 3, he mentions how the name of Sri Rama is capable of uplifting the fallen and as a corollary requests Rama, who is based in Bhadrachalam to always take care of him, who is devoted to Him.
