As You bestowed on me the vision of –
truth and falsehood of worship of the Isvara -
Lord with attributes and brahman - without attributes,
the secrets of the six modes of worship, and the

Commentary
- 2 jUpa santasilla kaNTi – From the words of Kriti, it is apparent that the Lord showed Sri Thyagaraja (a) truth and falsehood of formal and formless worship, (2) secrets of six modes of worship and (3) the methods of siddhis. Sri Thyagaraja says that ‘as You showed (jUpa ) these, I beheld (kaNTini ) them joyfully (santasilla ). In some books, it has been translated as ‘I have in vain explored fully the Saguna Marga and the Nirguna Marga, truth and falsehood, the six schools and the eight siddhis’. In my humble opinion, the wordings of the Kriti do not permit the latter translation.
