Commentary
This is a very widely popular kirthana in most Telugu households that is often recited at the end of devotional meetings and pujas. Its tune is easy to collectively recite and bestows the occasion with a sense of auspiciousness after concluding a puja, a prayer, or a religious discourse. In each charanam, Ramadasa describes the Lord in different ways that collectively gives the person reciting a mental picture of the beauty of His form and thus reinforces the devotion. It is thus very important to understand the significance of various words in charanams that bring forth such eloquent depiction of Lord Rama’s appearance and qualities.
